Violence/Threat Assessments

Threats of violence are found within the educational settings and workplace. This type of violence is not only costly in terms of financial loss, but also with regards to the loss of sense of safety and in some cases, loss of life. Identification of threats of violence and levels of dangerousness, along with proper knowledge on how to address such a threat can eliminate and/or substantially decrease the odds for violence to occur, and therefore ways to restore peace and safety.

Dr. Vera will meet with relevant management, police departments, or human resource personnel concerning threats, attack-related behaviors, and other disruptive behavior.  Following a thorough analysis of collected information, Dr. Vera generates a risk potential for violent behaviors, as well as a risk potential for ongoing disruptive behaviors. Results from Threat Assessments have not only aided agencies in violence prevention, detection and interruption, but also in litigation and sentencing in criminal cases.

Dr. Vera provides assessment, psycho-education, training and treatment related to threat assessments
